# Provider options

> Pass provider-native settings without leaking them across adapters.

Use `providerOptions` when Unfold's common options do not expose a provider-specific feature.

```ts theme={null}
const result = await client.parse("./report.pdf", {
  provider: "llamaparse",
  outputs: ["markdown"],
  providerOptions: {
    llamaparse: {
      tier: "agentic",
    },
  },
})
```

Each provider reads only its own namespace:

* `providerOptions.llamaparse`
* `providerOptions["mistral-ocr"]`
* `providerOptions.datalab`
* `providerOptions.liteparse`
* `providerOptions["pdf-inspector"]`

This keeps native settings available without flattening incompatible provider APIs into one shared object. Hosted provider options are typed by provider, so unsupported fields fail TypeScript checks before a request is sent. Direct mode remains open to custom provider IDs and their own option shapes.

<Note>
  Provider-native fields can change upstream. Unfold protects transport-owned
  fields, but you should confirm option names against the provider's
  documentation and your installed SDK version.
</Note>

Hosted requests encode provider options as JSON. The encoded options are limited to **64 KiB**.

Hosted LiteParse supports curated options for managed OCR, Office conversion,
image handling, complexity analysis, and screenshots. Transport credentials,
custom OCR server URLs, passwords, and filesystem paths are rejected. Unfold
never silently disables a requested capability; unsupported options fail the
job explicitly.
